The Beauty of Youth

Girlhood is one of the best times of your life! Sometimes, if you are not careful and watchful, you can rush by it so fast that you don’t even have a chance to enjoy the beautiful days of your girlhood before they are gone….and you are old. You will always be older much longer than you will ever be young!

I’ve seen too many young ladies wishing to be grown up, when the flower of youth was just blossoming. They wanted to be a mature flower in full and open bloom, when they were still meant to be just a small bud. The buds of a flower have a delicate beauty all their own. Every beautiful flower started out as a small bud. The secrets of their beauty were concealed…hidden, until……just the right time! God planned it that way for the flowers and He planned it that way for you too!

Wouldn’t it be silly if the two little girls in the picture above were dressed in high heels, fishnet nylons, skin tight halter tops, bikini bottoms and trying to imitate Hannah Montana? You would have good reason to say, “That would be ridiculous! They are just babies!”. So it is, for every preteen and teen girl who tries to dress and act like a twenty year old when she is still so very young.

Girlhood, is like a half-open rose. It’s something you want to protect because it’s not fully opened yet. You know what it can become, and you know it takes time for that change to happen. It takes time for anything beautiful…to mature. And it will take time for you to grow into a mature young woman too. There is so much to learn about. Take the time to learn. There is much to develop in your character. Listen to your mother and father as they try to teach you about life and Godliness.

For now, just enjoy being a girl! Laugh and play and learn …for this is your time.

Enjoy your friendships. Protect them. Train yourself to be a good friend to others. Good friendships don’t happen by themselves. They must be planted in the good soil of kindness, of love and of appreciation. Then, everyday of your life, be a friend that loveth at all times.

Enjoy your beautiful girlhood, for it will be gone in a blink of time!
